Biography - Hervé LOILIER
Painter

Born 18 March 1948 in Paris. Lecturer in Arts at the Ecole Polytechnique. Officer in the Order of Palmes Académiques. Honorary President of the Salon Violet. Member of the Salon d'Automne. Committee Member of the Salon des Artistes Français. A genuine artist in the rare and distinguished universe of painting. Without boasts, without garish colour, and without concessions to fads. Hervé Loilier has always sought to transform and translate what he sees and especially what he feels towards a subject. One might say that this painter is like his own images: at once reserved and warm, discreet, and yet communicative. In this way, one recognises in Loilier's work an atmosphere of mystery and a near-mystical unreality where the spectator is irresistibly attracted, for his greatest aesthetic pleasure. Midway between mythology and history, Loilier re-creates situations that speak beyond the image . One way to be a prophet in one's field.
